We have students from Uganda, Sudan, Tanzania, D. R. Congo, Rwanda, Somalia and Burundi doing different courses.
Courses
Our courses are divided into 4 levels:
Foundation for completely new starters from non English speaking countries
1) Level one
2) Level two
3) Level three
Each of these takes only thee months. There is also a specially tailored course for people who are able to take a marathon programme and cover all the levels in 6 months. All the courses are specially tailored to the individual needs of the clients. A certificate is awarded for each level.
The success of the department rests on the preparing students for high levels, focusing on both theory and practical elements of the language, keeping the local touch of language skills of each student, development and use of our own learning aids, etc.
The department has now introduced French, Kiswahili and Arabic as the other languages, which move will soon take the department to another level of becoming the Languages Department.
