Brief History
Tony Lenart pioneered this great institution in 2000 with the support of a number of Ugandans. In 2004, the Institute embarked on a process of restructuring its activities, adding a new dimension to consultancy by providing academic certificates and Diplomas in Humanities, while at the same time engaging in research and development.

We have a young and dynamic team of professionals dedicated to transforming people and creating a massive human capital development in Africa. Some of our associate partners with a rich experience in personal development have over the last years sacrificed their precious time and resources to ensure the continuity of the Institute, they have volunteered as facilitators on several occasions and this has enabled us to utilize our meager resources meaningfully.

Our desire is to do everything differently from other institutions in Uganda and Africa in general. We desire to cause a paradigm shift in our education system in Uganda by putting emphasis on education that builds individual skills of creativity and innovation. We welcome any person or organization that feels they can make a difference to humanity to join and support us morally, financially or otherwise and guarantee that you will never regret the choice made.

We intend to promote the following core values through our activities:

• Mutual Respect and Trust
• Accountability
• Understanding
• Commitment
• Self-Discipline
• Open Communication
• Innovation
• Integrity
• Collaboration
• Excellence and Quality in Education
• Responsible Global Citizenship

We intend to promote an environment:

• That assures student involvement in learning using effective instructional strategies and an innovative curriculum.
• That provides leading thoughts and practices by investing in the development of new studies and research.
• That inspires students and global citizens to positively change society.
• That encourages the collaboration and sharing of ideas, cultures and perspectives.
• Where students have a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Where students are challenged with educational opportunities to fulfill their personal, professional and academic potential.

We intend to fulfill our mission by:

• Providing leading, affordable and accessible education programs.
• Contributing to the improvement and transformation of urban slum conditions by integrating practicum components in our education programs focused on addressing pertinent socio-economic, health and environmental issues.
• Promoting original research that advances knowledge in the development and understanding of urban slum conditions.
• Providing a quality ongoing teacher education program that promotes practical experience, advanced qualifications, publications and international exchanges.
• Fostering collaboration between government and non-governmental organizations to implement integrated solutions that sustainability improve urban slum conditions.
• Raising awareness to the plight of urban slum conditions.
• Improving the outlook, approach and skill-sets of African leaders and managers to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the local civil, governmental and private sector and improve African living standards and conditions.
• Harnessing the creativity and abilities of students and teachers to promote education programs focused on creating jobs and opportunities.
• Establishing a knowledge center for the accumulation and dissemination of urban slum area studies and good practices.
• Promoting the role of culture in development through social-economic empowerment of linguistic, behavioral and material culture.
